  18. YGM stands for 'You've Got Mail'.
  19. It checks your POP mailboxes for new mails so that you do not have to
  20. start your favourite yet sometimes bulky mail client just for this.
  21.  
  22. YGM shows you how many mails are waiting in your mailboxes for download
  23. and their approximate size.
  24.  
  25. YGM is also useful for email providers who require a POP3 authentication
  26. before you are allowed to send emails over their SMTP servers, a security
  27. feature also known as 'SMTP-after-POP'.

  30. EINFÜHRUNG

  32. YGM steht für 'You've Got Mail' ('Du hast Post' oder auch 'e-m@il für
  33. Dich' ;-).
  34. Es prüft die eigenen POP-Mailboxen auf neue EMails, so daß dafür nicht
  35. extra der sonst bevorzugte aber manchmal etwas voluminöse EMail-Client
  36. gestartet werden muß.

  38. YGM zeigt an, wie viele EMails in den eigenen Mailboxen auf den Download
  39. warten, sowie deren ungefähre Größe.

  41. YGM ist außerdem bei EMail-Providern nützlich, die eine POP3-Authentifi-
  42. zierung erfordern, bevor EMails über deren SMTP-Server verschickt werden
  43. können, ein Sicherheits-Feature, das auch als 'SMTP-after-POP' bekannt
  44. ist.
